  1. Occasion FreeWare release (21-05-97)

  3. Occasion is FreeWare and may be used freely and distributed to others provided
  4. no charges are made and the software is not used for financial gain. The
  5. software is provided 'as is'. ExpLAN Computers Ltd. do not accept any liability
  6. for any loss or damage resulting from the use of the software.

  8. Occasion is a client-server diary system that can also store a set of names and
  9. addresses from the Cards database on the Acorn Pocket Books. It Supports input
  10. to/from Cards for addresses (NB NOT intended to be used a main database as it
  11. is memory hungry).

  13. Occasion uses a utility called !Secure to create and edit its user entries and
  14. set groups & passwords. The default password for the Super:User is "secret".

  16. There are two versions:

  18. Family version:-
  19.    Supports up to 8 simultaneous user-diaries on a single Desktop machine with
  20.    cross-merging of appointments, privacy and group allocations.
  21.  
  22. Gala version:-
  23.    Gala Occasion runs across an AUN network where one machine stores all the
  24.    diary files on its hard-disc and acts as a Diary Server. Other machines on
  25.    the network run the Occasion Client software. Gala can handle up to 2000
  26.    user diaries. This version is still available on disc from ExpLAN (see
  27.    below), and you are advised to request manuals at the same time.

  43. However manuals are available at £3.50 each, plus carriage (at 50p within UK).

  45. If a disc is required, an additional £2 is payable, however you are encouraged
  46. to pass on the software (including this text file) rather than source the
  47. software from ExpLAN.
